Le Blanc Spa Resort Reviews

Is your schedule hectic? Do you feel like you live for everyone else and never for yourself? Are you always feeling torn between what you should do and what you want to do (which is nothing)? Then it is definitely time for a vacation.

As you start looking for options, you become overwhelmed. There are so many places to go. You know you don't want to stay local; this may be the first vacation you've had without kids in a long time. You have zero intention of driving over to the beach that is within striking distance of the family.

You've always thought Cancun would be a fun place to visit, and as you start looking at the pictures, you tell your spouse this will be your vacation destination. The water is a blue color you've never seen and laps up against white sandy beaches. You can feel every muscle in your body relax at the thought of it.

The problem? Where do you even begin when it comes to finding a place to stay? Cancun is replete with hotel options, and you don't think you can spare the time to sift through them all. There is one spot that seems to keep catching your eye: Le Blanc Spa Resort. It is highly rated, and the amenities at a glance look lovely. If only you could get a rundown of all the facts in one place and not have to go searching for them.

That's where we come in. We've done a thorough review of the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Le Blanc Spa Resort. Spoiler alert: There is no ugly.

Cancun's Top All-Inclusive Resort

When Le Blanc Spa was remodeled in 2005, Palace Resorts couldn't have predicted the tremendous success the resort would have. Located in the Hotel Zone in Cancun, the resort is a standout even from the outside. The white structure contrasts the blue skies and the water it sits up against.

From your first step into the lobby, you know you've entered a place of total and complete relaxation and comfort. The elegant furnishings and décor don't weigh the lobby down or make it dark. In fact, the opposite is true. The openness and airiness of the chic and sophisticated décor are features you probably have only seen in movies and on TV.

The lobby affords you the first look at the turquoise pools and, beyond that, the matching ocean water. The white sandy beaches are bright, and the landscape is dotted with cabanas and Polynesian-inspired umbrellas. People appear relaxed and happy. The swim-up bar is a standout and beckons to be patronized.

Le Blanc Spa is an adults-only resort. No kids' meltdowns or temper tantrums to contend with. The hotel is all inclusive, meaning food and beverages consumed on the property are included in the rate of your room for the duration of your stay. This package includes cocktails, beer, wine and all non-alcoholic beverages.

Le Blanc is one of the only all-inclusive resorts that includes hard liquor among its available drinks. In fact, there are dispensers in each room featuring name-brand, top-shelf liquor.

When you get hungry, grab a snack or order something at one of the hotel's fine dining options, including the award-winning Lumiere restaurant. Reservations at Lumiere are suggested, especially during the busy season. The food at Lumiere is still part of the all-inclusive package. There is a wide variety of food available onsite including access to a 24-hour, in-room dining menu.

The guest rooms at Le Blanc Spa each include some unique features. Every room comes with a private whirlpool tub that is perfect for two. There is also a pillow menu that allows you to choose the kind of pillow you would like to sleep on. Some of the options include:

  • Lavender pillow
  • Goose feather pillow
  • Orthopedic pillow
  • Hypoallergenic pillow
  • Air pillow
  • Chamomile pillow

There is also aromatherapy in each room, so your space always smells fresh, clean and relaxing.

Some of the other in-room amenities include Apple TV, free WiFi, a complimentary beach bag to use during your stay, an upgraded minibar and an in-mirror TV. Le Blanc goes above and beyond to ensure each guest feels pampered and well-cared for.

One of the most exciting inclusions with any stay at Le Blanc is the assignment and use of a personal butler. Yes, a person available to help you unpack, make reservations and even draw a dreamy bath for you. If you need anything, call your butler, and he or she will be sure to try and help. If the goal of Le Blanc is to make you feel like you're a celebrity, the butler feature achieves that.

There are three infinity-edge, free-form pools to take a dip in. There are even pool attendants available to provide you with a cool towel or water as needed. The onsite spa has amenities included with your room, such as hydrotherapy and a sauna.

However, the rest of the services need to be purchased separately. While there is a resort credit included in some packages, the spa services can be expensive. Still, they can be completely worth it.

The overall feel of the hotel is serenity. It is the perfect splurge if you have never felt this level of attentiveness and luxury before (which you probably haven't).

Cost of Le Blanc Spa Resort

spa resort panoramic view

Le Blanc Spa Resort is rated as the No.1 all-inclusive resort in Cancun. Given that designation, the features described and the amenities offered, you would probably think the price is pretty steep. A place that provides a personal butler to unpack your luggage when you arrive has to cost more than the Holiday Inn down the street.

Do you get what you pay for? The Le Blanc is not only the No. 1 resort of luxury and appeal, but it is also the most expensive resort. You are going to pay, and pay big, to stay in a place that pampers you this much.

The fact of the matter is, a stay at Le Blanc is most likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the average person. For this reason, it doesn't come as too much of a surprise that the price to experience that luxury is so high.

When we tried to reserve a room to find examples of room rates, we learned that there were no rooms available for eight months. It is a testament to how popular the resort is despite the high price.

There are a few room options available. The standard room gives you all the amenities discussed above with a resort view. A room like this will cost about $739 per night.

If you want to upgrade your room to get a better view or even a balcony, expect to pay at least $100 more per night. There is also a "wellness" room that gives you a spa treatment, access to a meditation coach and some other goodies. This room will cost about $1,000 a night.

How Le Blanc Spa Resort Stacks Up Against Others

It never hurts to see what the competition looks like, especially when you are going on vacation. We've provided a peek at a few other adult-only, all-inclusive resorts near the Le Blanc Spa.

Excellence Playa Mujeres

spa resort panoramic view

The Excellence Playa Mujeres is not located right near the Le Blanc, but it offers guests a quiet sanctuary away from the Hotel Zone. Every guest room has a private balcony, and some offer private plunge pools.

One of the neatest features of the Playa Mujeres is the whirlpool tub in each room – it can be accessed from the balcony or from inside of the room. There are countless activities offered at the resort, and most, if not all are included in the price of the room. The Playa Mujeres is a real getaway that gives guests the chance to escape the bustle of the city and enjoy true paradise.

The Hyatt Zilara is a hacienda-style hotel right down the beach from Le Blanc Spa. The Hyatt provides guests with an upscale, all-inclusive experience to make their vacation dreams come true.

Spend the morning hanging out in the infinity pool or kick back on your balcony (every room has one) and watch the ocean lap up against the beach. Every room has an ocean view. If you splurge and get a swim-up room, you can take a quick dip from the edge of your balcony and grab a drink at the pool bar without ever leaving the water.
