A Little Piece of Heaven – Bora Bora

Bora-BoraA place so nice, they had to name it twice! Did you know that because the letter B isn’t present in the Tahitian language the place is actually called Pora Pora (meaning First Born), but the early settlers just misheard the name?

Belonging to the group of island of French Polynesia in the Pacific, Bora Bora is the most beautiful place on earth. We know that such a statement is silly and that there are thousands of amazing places on this Earth of ours, but we here at route4us.com think there’s nothing more beautiful that the perfect Bora Bora. We won’t lie to you, it’s quite expensive and it’s quite difficult to get there, but if you do have the money and you don’t mind the long trip, you’ll find yourself in heaven, while still alive and kicking.

Just look at that picture, the water, the palm trees, the little luxury huts and the sky! But there’s more to do than gawk at the beauties of the island and soaking up the sun. You can feed the sharks, shop, eat, explore the island, snorkel and even have an adventure – there is no public transport on the island, so rent a bike and go see for yourself what the island is all about. Vaitape is the largest settlement on the island, where you can shop till you drop and interact with the locals; they’re very sociable and friendly.

What makes Bora Bora so perfect is the climate – it is the perfect climate to be found on earth. Every month of the year has an average high of either 29 or 30 degrees Celsius and an average low of 23 or 24 degrees Celsius. Can you imagine an average low of 24 degrees?! The summer days though (November to April) are very high in humidity and you’ll want to pack an umbrella, but even if you don’t, you won’t catch a cold, it’s Heaven. Nobody has ever heard of catching a cold in heaven.

If you are planning to visit Bora Bora then make an extra effort and stay at one of those famous huts above the water. It could be the Hilton, or something a little more modest (although modest in not a good word for those types of luxury huts), but it is the only way to stay in Bora Bora. If you’re in Heaven, at least have good seats!
